About Dawn Middleton Jewelry Artist - Art Jeweler

Rooted in the wild beauty of Alaska, my journey as an artist began with a deep fascination for the natural world—moss, lichen, mushrooms, and the quiet magic of found objects. As a child, I felt an innate reverence for everything that came from the earth. To me, these were not just objects, but sacred expressions of life—each holding its own energy, its own quiet wisdom.

This deep connection to nature still guides me today. I’ve come to understand my gift as the ability to see the energy, color, and vibration in the world around me. When I hold a stone or shape a piece of metal, I listen to its story and respond to its potential. My process is intuitive, a flow state that begins from my center and channels through my hands into a tangible form.

Fire and flow are the heart of my jewelry-making practice. I’m especially inspired by the Hawaiian goddess Pele, the fierce feminine force of creation and transformation. Like her, I honor the fire as a sacred tool—not just for shaping metal, but for invoking change and awakening beauty. Watching metal respond to flame feels like a conversation, a dance, a ritual of becoming.

My creative path has been a winding one—from welding on the assembly line at Ford, to designing interiors, to finally answering the call to create art jewelry. Each experience has shaped me, layering strength, skill, and insight into who I am and what I make.

Today, my work is both offering and reflection—an expression of gratitude for the earth, the divine feminine, and the mysterious flow that connects us all.
